Bombarded by stressors, pulled this way and that, we are continuously pulled off center, away from the feeling depth of our beating heart. Detached from our emotions and our exquisite vulnerability, we are like a balloon that is let go to the winds, yanked willy-nilly by the blowing breezes.

The less attention we pay to our heart, the less of our authentic selves we bring to our work, our world and our words. And the more desolate, dissatisfied and unmoored we feel. The less attention we pay to our heart, the more we disconnect from ourselves and others (including the audience we speak to and the clients we serve).

This week, make your way back to your heart. Allow your feelings, your needs, your magnificent feeling and intuitive nature to be fed and nurtured. Before you act, check in with what you are feeling. Ask yourself, is this an action that will feed me? Or is it an action that will pull me off my course and away from what I know is right for me? Before you speak, ask yourself “Are these words reflecting my deepest feelings and intent? Or am I simply paying lip-service and filling the air with words that are skating off the surface of what I really feel and need?”

Nothing is more powerful or courageous than living and speaking from your heart.

In the face of the daily challenges that could pull you away from your sacred center, have the courage to return to your heart, over and over and over again.- both on and off the speaking platform.

1.To calm yourself and find your center in the midst of chaos, cross both your palms over your heart and say (out loud if possible) “I am safe, I am calm.” Speak these words until you believe them.

2. Regularly give yourself a heart-filled minute: For sixty seconds, close your eyes and picture in your minds'eye the faces of the people in your life that you deeply love. Look into their eyes and feel their love radiating back to you, silently sending each one your gratidude for their presence in your life.

2.What fills your heart deep with joy and love? Take a moment to list the activities that make your heart overflow with joy. Then pick an activity and do it fully and joyfully.
